Luc Schneider holds a Ph. D. in Philosophy from the University of Geneva (2007), a M.Sc. in Computing Science from Imperial College, London (2001) and a M.A. in Philosophy and in Linguistics from the University of Tübingen (1993). He has been a researcher and webmaster at CEPS/INSTEAD, a social research institute in Luxembourg (1996-2000). He then worked as research associate in the ontology group of the Italian National Research Council in Padova (2001-2002) and as a research fellow at the Institute for Formal Ontology and Medical Information Science in Leipzig, Germany (2002-2003). He has been a teaching assistant at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Geneva (2004-2005) and at the Humanities College of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (2005-2006). He has been a researcher at the Institute Jean Nicod (Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris) since 2008. His main research interests are in metaphysics, formal ontology and philosophical logic.
