Jacek Galewski is a sociologist and a historian. He works at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University of Warsaw, in the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies. His interests focus are on problems of social identity, ethnic and religious conflicts, the sociology of migration and the history of recent times. Fluent in English and German, he has years of experience as a translator and editor. At the Institute of Applied Social Sciences of the University of Warsaw, he is preparing his PhD thesis, the subject of which is the juxtaposition of anti-Semitism at the end of the interwar period with Islamophobia and Arabophobia of the second decade of the 21st century, after 2015, during the so-called "migration crisis".
